Macrolane is a new product from Q-Med aimed for augmentation, sculpturing and correction of body forms. The procedure is similar to that based on common Restylane, however the volume, the depth of injection and the diameter of the needle are greater. The use of local anaesthesia is mandatory, but general anesthesia is not necessary. After the treatment with Macrolane, which takes 30-60 minutes, the patients can leave the clinic without delay.
The result is not permanent, but it will last for much longer time then an ordinary Restylane does. To maintain the aesthetic effect ca. 40% of the first injected volume should be added after 6-24 months.

Macrolane can be used for augmentation of battocks, sculpturing of various body forms, treatment of deepen and cavernous scars and missfigurations.
Macrolane is registered for deep tissue augmentation in Europe since 2007. In Japan, where Macrolane has been used for a little longer time, already 40.000 tretments have been performed (may 2008).
